Diminishing ReturnsAny card is named (no forces ,etc.) and removed.
The rest of the deck is spread face up and visibly shrinks to a mini sized deck, leaving the selected card as the only regular sized card in the deck.
The selected card is placed into the spread of mini cards and the spread squared up. When spread again, the complete deck has returned to normal size except for the selected card which is now a mini card.
Finally the selected card visibly returns to normal.
No words can do justice to this visual effect. The audience reaction is literally one giant gasp!
