The magician places three cards, one at a time into the palm of her hand, while reciting a lovely poem about how a caterpillar builds a cocoon and changes into a butterfly, with the appealing pictures on the cards corresponding to the story and magically changing from a caterpillar to a cocoon. When it comes to change from a cocoon to a butterfly, however, the cards don't seem to be working.
"Perhaps if you turned it over." The spectator turns over the cards. No butterfly.
" I didn't mean turn over the cards, I meant turn your hand over.
The spectator turns her palm face down and there on the back of her hand is an actual butterfly. You will not believe the reaction you get from this one!
