Here is a dandy little close up miracle. 

Show a gleaming silver colored tube about 3/4" in diameter and about 2" long. Show both ends. The tube is empty. Place a piece of tissue paper over one end and hold it in place with a metal ring that matches the tube. 

The same goes for the other end. 

The tube is completely closed off at each end with tissue paper, like a small drum, and has been shown to be unmistakable empty. 

Now very deliberately, you poke a hole in one end with your thumb. 

Then reach inside and produce a large silk. 

You can also produce a sponge ball or any other small object. 

Great item, can be done very close up. 

A great way to get that silk you need for a follow up trick.
