Here is a beautifully conceived illusion machined from a solid bar of brass.
A large nut and bolt are shown to have a hole drilled right through the middle of each.
Threading a cord through this hole effectively locks them together.
However, when covered by a handkerchief, the bolt easily makes its escape leaving the nut still securely threaded on the cord.
The nut, bolt and cord are all fully examinable.
