Color MonteMagi relates how he lost bet after bet with a clever gambler using three cards, two cards with a red spot, and one with a blue spot.
Trying to guess where the blue spot is, the Magi loses a dollar each time.
The cards change to all red spots, then all blue spots, confusing everyone.
After 7 amazing changes, the Magi has lost $7.00.
That's enough, he says. He wants to quit, but the gambler's says he'll give him one chance to get his money back. They'll play for double or nothing.
He then turns over two cards, one red and one blue. For double or nothing, the Magi must guess the remaining color.
Easy enough, it must be half red and half blue.
"Sorry," says the gambler, "you lose $14.00."
The last card is turned over and on the face in large green numbers is $14.00 printed on it. The amount our Magi has "lost".
